Dr. David P. Stroud
Dr. David P. Stroud, DVM
Dr. David P. Stroud, DVM graduated from UGA in 1994 and joined the practice that year. He loves spending time with his family.

Dr. Doug Smith
Dr. Doug Smith
Dr. Doug Smith was raised in the Midlands of South Carolina and graduated from Spring Valley HS. He went into the Navy for 6 years as a nuclear propulsion operator. He graduated from Clemson University then went to UGA Vet School and finished in 1992. He spent most of his formative years on a “pseudo farm” which is where his love for animals took root. After vet school he spent 5 years in both small animal clinical and emergency clinic medicine, and then in small animal private practice for many years. He then worked at Clemson Veterinary Diagnostic Center as a diagnostician until he found us!
He has 2 sons (30 & 27) and 3 step daughters. His lovely wife Crystal works full time in ministry with special needs children of all ages. They have 2 dogs: Clover is a hound cross and Mando is a Corgi cross. Dr. Smith also enjoys working out, sports, motorcycles and reading non fiction. Please give him a big welcome with us!

Dr. Courtney Sampson

Dr. Courtney Sampson earned her veterinary degree from The University of Georgia in 2014. Following that, she pursued an internship in small animal internal medicine and surgery at North Carolina State University, followed by a three-year residency in neurology/neurosurgery at the University of Tennessee, where she became board certified as a veterinary neurologist in 2018. After seven years specializing, Dr. Sampson transitioned to general practice, where she enjoys caring for both healthy animals and urgent cases. Outside of work, she embraces adventurous activities like skydiving, white water rafting, and hiking. She cherishes time with her husband and two lively mutts. Dr. Sampson is thrilled to join the Walhalla family and looks forward to meeting your pets!

Our hospital manager, Krysta Kokay, has been with Walhalla Vet since 2013. She has 2 sons, 3 dogs & a bearded dragon. Krysta takes pride in her family & serving her community!

Samantha Sims LVT
Samantha Sims LVT, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Samantha is a graduate of Tri-County Technical College with an associate degree in Applied Science with a major in Veterinary Technology. After graduation, she took her national and state boards and became a licensed Veterinary Technician. Samantha joined the Walhalla Veterinary Hospital team in October of 2020. She has two dogs named Sully and Gracie.

Helen Flowers

Helen has such a love for all the fur-babies that walk into the hospital! This has been her passion since she was a little girl to work with animals of all kinds. She and her husband Jason have been married over 22 years and are now ‘empty nesters’ to their two children, Autumn & Warren. She has a huge love for hammock camping with her husband and loving on her fur-babies, Jaxson, Bisquick, Casper-and farm life of chickens!

Jill Dougherty

Jill has wanted to work in the veterinary field since she was 5 years old. Her one and only hobby is taking care of animals on her little backyard farm. She enjoys pending time with her family and 3 dogs. (Great Dane, Pitbull & Dingo.)

Lex Hubert

Lex has been working with animals since she was 16 years old. In 2020 she moved from NJ to Walhalla where she runs a homestead business growing & selling flowers. She enjoys hunting, fishing, gardening and stays involved with her church. She has two dogs named Squid & Tucker, a duck (that thinks he is a dog) named Marshmallow, and a bunch of chickens.

Savannah loves working with animals and forming connections with clients. She enjoys traveling and fishing with her husband and spending time with their 2 bloodhounds- Jack and Darla 🙂

Kimberly Peay
Kimberly Peay, CSR
Kimberly loves working with animals and has many of her own including a cow, 3 goats, 8 dogs, and 2 cats. In her free time she helps coach recreation sports teams.

Grace loves working in veterinary medicine. In her free time, Grace rides horses, rescues dogs, hiking. She is kind & caring!
